Diskkeeper run defrag1/6/2024 I'd rather use freebees or stick to Windows' Diskeeper "lite". After we installed Diskeeper 2010 Professional and ran a hard defrag, the overall performance went up to 311.8 and the disk performance shot up to 218.1. Raxo PerfectDisc is crap and it is almost a given that Speedisk must be since it is from Symantec (though I have not tried since ye olde timey days). Those scores are mostly used for comparison purposes with other systems but, in this case, were used for comparison with itself before and after running Diskeeper. If you want a chuckle open Diskeeper's FAQ: "Why doesn't Diskeeper move all of the files into one place on the volume?" One niggle with Defrag is the splash screen, which I loathe in general. So, while Defrag of course offers scheduling, I submit that it is prolly better for those who prefer the manual approach with full control while Diskeeper is better for those who prefer the automatic approach (which is certainly better for corporate use but not necessarily for the enthusiast). Defrag offers five (count them: five!) defrag types which are not limited by manual or schedule whereras Diskeeper offers only three (disregarding the supplementary-only I-FAAST), one of which is for schedules only. The program’s biggest problem is an interface that’s. Conversely, Defrag apparently cannot expand the MFT while Diskeeper can. Diskeeper (30, free trial) is more of a fragmentation-prevention and background-defragging program than a classic run-once defragger. 'ginny-wise, Defrag can handle everything (particularly MFT and registry) from Windows except the pagefile while Diskeeper must do the pre-boot dance for the MFT as well. Diskeeper, now running for the first time, has already taken that long and is only. Diskeeper 10's improved (over 9) but is still a work in progress. Windows Defrag would normally take about 20-25 minutes to run its course. Among them, Diskeeper and PerfectDisk, both with a long development history and solid technologies, are recognized leaders – any other similar applications pale by comparison.Since everyone and their cat is on the Diskeeper bandwagon I am compelled to point out that O&O Defrag Pro is also excellent and indeed it's interface remains superior. There are so many defragmenting programs in the market – commercial, free, or open-source. So defragmenting software is one of the common tools that computers must use.
